CruelTar:
Substitute
DragonDance
Crunch
Earthquake

Sub is there, to go into a wall, that has status, maybe Bliss with T-wave, and set up your Sub.
Then, DD, and in whatever situation your in, Sub again if your sub dies, or DD again.
If they switch into a Roarer, just attack.
After they break the sub, the 2nd time, DD again, so you will have to take SOME damage, but nothing serious. If the wall is still in there, take a while, pretending to choose which attack is more safe, but really Sub again, predicting the T-wave or burn. Then, just start repeating the process, unless your nice, and start attacking.

I have Crunch for all those pesky ghosts running around nowadays, and also latias/pixies. It's also sorta a filler, because i didnt much need Stone Edge. Crunch does the job.
Earthquake is for nearly everything else. It can kill Tran easy, other tars, Scizor, Metagross, and much more.

So really, after this thing has a sub, and maybe one DD, it can tear through teams, although its main threat is Hippowdon and Skarmory, doing small amounts of damage to both.

I use the SubPunch Ttar in my Bug-type team, but I find Focus Punch to be quite annoying. I might replace it with something less strong, but also of the fighting type.

The other Fighting type moves it can learn are Brick Break, Focus Blast, Rock Smash, Superpower, and Low kick.
So that is a hard decision of to which move to replace it with, but maybe BB because it can break screens, and doesn't get the attack and defense drop like Superpower.
I don't recommend Focus Blast because its special, Rock Smash is total fail, and Low kick can be used effectively but only on Heavy pokemon.

Yeah, but then I think I tried replacing it and failed.

Hmm... has Focus Punch served you well?
If it has, then just keep it, maybe try Superpower if it does fail.

Having a Tyranitar that is intended to stay out for a long period of time with a Stat Reducing move is, I think, A bad move.
I'd say to stick with either F-Punch or Brick Break, imo.
